October Holiday programme

Your Museum is a great place to explore our heritage these holidays. Come and experience our latest exhibition Landscape of Dreams. There are fascinating things to see and discover, fun things to do in the exhibitions, and special activity sessions.

Holiday hours

The South Canterbury Museum will be open every day of the holidays. Monday to Friday 10am to 4:30pm and 1:00 to 4:30pm in the weekends. Admission is free.

While you’re here you can:

  • Take part in the Museum Mystery quizzes – find the answers hidden around the Museum and win a penny to use on the old coin games!
  • Get a closer look at the Landscape of Dreams exhibition
  • Explore our exhibitions with hundreds of things to see!
  • Find the Golden Frogand go into the draw to win a prize!
  • Colour in a Lizard and enter the competition to win a prize!

Special activities

We’ve got a mix of free drop-in activities as well as craft sessions that you can book and pay a small fee for.

We need kid’s names, ages, day/session time and contact number when booking.

Activities are suitable for children aged 5 – 13. Children under the age of 8 need to be accompanied by an adult.
