It is with regret that, due to the recent Covid19 crisis, the SC Branch of NZSG has suspended their genealogical research assistance offered at the Museum on Sundays as a result Government advice on face to face contacts.

This means that on Sunday afternoon members of the society will no longer be available to assist with public queries or provide access to branch resources. Instead, anyone seeking assistance from the South Canterbury branch of the NZSG can email their queries to southcanterbury@genealogy.org.nz

The South Canterbury Museum research room will remain open as normal, even as we continue to monitor the situation closely. If you are visiting, please take note of the Ministry of Health recommendations, consider social distancing recommendations and ensure you use the hand sanitiser supplied on arrival at the Museum to protect both yourselves and others.
