Change of research hours

From November we will be changing our research hours to 1.30 to 4.30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Mutually suitable appointments may also be available at other times - but will need to be arranged with us well in advance.

Why? Increasing researchers are accessing our advice and services online – as well as making use of the increasing number of digital resources instead of visiting. Developing our exciting new museum development and spaces over the next year or so (as well as remaining focused on releasing more digitised assets and resources) takes that most precious of resources - time. We do however remain committed to providing our core research services, releasing more digital assets and developing our exciting new museum spaces. These changes will give us some much-needed flexibility to deliver these to you and support your exploration of our local heritage.
