Biographical Notes

Edwin John Anderson was born on 11 June 1887 at Albury, the youngest son of John and Annie (née Middleton) Anderson. He was educated at Albury School.

Edwin married Ellen Mary Margaret Hamilton (known as Helen) in 1919 at Chalmers Church, Timaru. Two brothers of Edwin also served in World War One – the oldest, James Herbert Charles Anderson (45805), and the third, Cecil Bertram Anderson (8/1923).
