Biographical Notes

William Corrie Whyte was the second son of James Heron Whyte and his wife, Annie (Ann) née Deavoll. He enlisted as William Corrie White. W. G.[sic] Whyte was in the draft of South Canterbury men who left for Trentham on 20 February 1917.

William married Vera Alison (Allen) Joll in 1919. His brother, Robert Holmes Whyte, was killed in action in 1917 at Passchendaele.
