Biographical Notes
Frederick Harvey Kilworth was born on 11 May 1884 at Waimate, the third son of George and Jessie (née Hart) Kilworth. He was an engine driver in New Plymouth when he enlisted, naming a friend there as next-of-kin. After the war, Frederick married Jane Annie Richardson Martin. Frederick and his four surviving brothers were pall-bearers at the military funeral of his brother, Robert Clarence Kilworth at Waimate in December 1937. Robert had served overseas in World War I and been seriously wounded. Another brother, Edward William Kilworth, also enlisted. Frederick died on 7 December 1948 at Waimate, age 64years, and was buried in the local cemetery.
