Biographical Notes

Frederick Gordon Stanley Claridge was born on 4 October 1892 at Temuka, the fifth surviving son of Charles and Amelia (née Hanks) Claridge, who emigrated to New Zealand immediately after their marriage in England. Frederick was educated at Temuka School. He married Edith Mary Bartlett in 1934. Frederick died on 19 October 1962 at Auckland, aged 70 years, and was cremated, his ashes being interred in in the services section of Waikumete Cemetery. His brother, Albert Edwin Claridge, also served in World War I.
