Biographical Notes

William George Booker who was born on 24 June 1882 at Temuka, was the oldest son of James Booker and Charlotte Susan née Wyatt who had married in 1881 at Temuka. Private W. G. Booker was wounded on 18 September 1915 at Gallipoli,. He suffered a gunshot wound to his left knee joint. William died on 18 August 1945 at Christchurch ad was buried in Bromley Cemetery. His brother, Allan Rowland Booker, also served in World War I, and another brother, Francis James Booker enlisted.
