Biographical Notes

Alfred Samuel Sherratt was the oldest of the family of Noah and Sarah Jane (née Rusbatch) Sherratt. He was educated at Geraldine District High School. Alfred was a groom and driver at Geraldine when he was called up. Trooper A. S Sherratt returned to New Zealand from Egypt per the troopship “Ellenga”, embarking at Suez on 23 July 1919 and arriving in late August. He married Roseanna Mary Peterson in 1922.
