Biographical Notes
Arthur Langdon Hudson, known as Langdon, was the son of Lewis and Sarah Coulling (née Sanders) Hudson. Enlisting in 1917 at Timaru, he saw service only in New Zealand. In World War II, A. L. Hudson served with the Timaru Battalion of the Home Guard. He married Vida Evelyn Pryor in 1929. Both Athur and Evelyn were cremated at Salisbury Park Crematorium. The Methodist Church of Timaru placed a handsome window in the Bank Street Church as a memorial for the war victims of the congregations. Apart from the names of the fallen appearing on the window, the names of all who served were inscribed in a book which was to be preserved in the Church. Included in the names was that of Arthur Langdon Hudson.
