Biographical Notes
James Waters was the seventh son of William and Frances Sophia (née Giles) Waters. J. Waters, 23/1865, returned home with Draft 191 of invalided soldiers by the “Remuera”, embarking at Liverpool on 7 September 1918 and arriving on 23 October. An older brother George William Waters was killed in action in 1918 in France. His younger brother Leonard Albert Waters also served in World War I.
