Biographical Notes
James William Marshall was the only child of James William and Johanna (née Patterson) Marshall. He married Alice Middleton on 27 December 1911 at Waimate. Lance Corporal J. W. Marshall returned home with Draft 191 of invalided soldiers by the “Remuera”, embarking at Liverpool on 7 September 1918 and arriving on 23 October. He married Eva Isabel Haig in 1921.
