Biographical Notes
John Robertson, 25/672, was the oldest son of Charles Robertson and Catherine née Bruce. Charlie and Catherine had married in 1873 at Glasgow, Scotland. By 1873 they were at Waimate where their first four children were born before a move to Stewart Island. Mrs Robertson died in 1892, while Charles lived until 1945, dying at the age of 94 years. john's brother James Bruce Robertson was called up.
