Biographical Notes

It appears that John Cameron Allan was born at Leslie, Fifeshire, the son of William and Elizabeth (née Cameron) Allan. This John was at home at Leslie, with his parents and siblings in 1881 and 1891, in 1891 a mill worker. He married Catherine Wilson on 11 July 1913 in Fifeshire. He had served time with the 3rd Kings Royal Hussars. Late in 1917 he was drawn in the Second Ballot for Second Division Class A drafts, having previously enrolled in the Reserve Force. John Cameron Allan died on 17 September 1938 in Transvaal, South Africa, his Will of effects in England being administered in favour of his widow Catherine Allan. Is this the same man?
