Biographical Notes
James Alfred Neilson wa sthe son of John Peter and Jane (née Brown) Neilson, and a nephew of Norman, Alland and John Maze. He was educated at Pleasant Point School. James was rejected in 1916 at Pleasant Point on the grounds of medical unfitness, and listed on the Reserve Roll. He was drawn in the ballot. His brother Peter Edward Neilson was called up. James married Lavinia Priscilla Keinan in 1927.
