Biographical Notes
Arthur Denis Shirley was the younger son of Arthur and Bridget Ann (née Jones) Shirley. He married Catherine McKone on 17 November 1917 at Oamaru. His brother William also served in World War I, and their sister married Richard Sullivan who was also to serve in World War I.
