Biographical Notes
Andrew Brockie was the eldest son of William Brockie and his wife, Christina née Murray. Andrew Brockie, a shepherd at Cave, was drawn in the fourth ballot in February 1917. He had been in New Zealand for four years when he enlisted. In 1919 Andrew was a shepherd at Hakataramea Station. He married Margaret Stewart in 1920 in New Zealand. His brother, Adam Brockie, also served in World War One with the New Zealand Forces.
