Biographical Notes
George Lawson was the oldest son of Williard R. D. and Mary Ann (née Adams). Williard Lawson married more than once. Mary Ann died in July 1881 and is buried at Geraldine. In November 1881 at Woodbury Williard married Mrs Mary Morrison. George Lawson had served in the South Africa War. Trooper G. Lawson, Timaru, was one of the recruits for the Tenth Reinforcements who left South Canterbury in mid November 1915 for Trentham Camp. His father died in 1918 at Timaru, and his step-mother in 1921.
