Biographical Notes
William Sutherland Helem was the third son of William Sutherland and Lucy Sophia (née Denton) Helem. He married Doris Elizabeth Vye in 1934 in New Zealand. About the 1960s they moved to Australia. Two brothers of William, John and Arthur, also enlisted, neither serving overseas.
