Biographical Notes

John Linton Helem was the eldest son of William Sutherland and Lucy Sophia (née Denton) Helem. He was baptised at the Geraldine Presbyterian Church. John was educated at Geraldine and Westerfield schools. He married Annie Catherine Moore in 1915. John died suddenly at Wanganui Hospital. Two brothers of John, Arthur and William, also enlisted, William serving overseas.
