Biographical Notes
Albert Victor Shivas was the son of James and Isabella (née McLean) Shivas. He was born and educated at Gore. Although his address was given as Oamru he was a saddler for J. Workman, Timaru. He was serving with the 2nd South Canterbury Regiment, with which he went to camp..Albert married Martha (Mattie) Rosanna Florence Toomey in 1923.
