Biographical Notes

Hugh Halbertson Mackay was the son of Donald Murray and Roberta (Robertas, née Patterson) Mackay. Hugh was educated at Waikouaiti School, moving to Wellington in 1899. His mother who was his nominated next-of-kin, died on 31 May 1916. Advice was to be sent also to his brother, J. P. (John Paterson) Mackay, Alexandra Road, Khandallah.
