Biographical Notes
Russell David King was the youngest son of James and Mary (née Campbell) King. He was educated at Timaru Main School. He married Helen Ballardie Little in 1924. He also served in World War II (31346), where he gained distinction. Dr King served as Honorary Physician to King George VI after World War II. Colonel R. D. King, CBE, DSO, Royal NZ Medical Corps, was proudly remembered among the Timaru Main School ex-pupils. He practised medicine for many years in Timaru prior to his death.
