Biographical Notes

Frederick Leopold Willcocks was the second son of New Zealand born George Wilcock (name at marriage) and his wife, Welsh-born Emily Florence née Davis, George and Emily having married in 1888 at Geraldine. Year of birth for Frederick is estimated. Frederick was educated at St Andrews and Springbrook schools, and likely others. F. L. Wilcox left New Zealand on the Moeraki and transhipped to Malta at Sydney for Suez. Federick's brother George Hedley Wilcocks also served in World War I.
