Biographical Notes
Thomas John Grace was the son of James and Hannah (née Brosnahan) Grace, of Pleasant Point. Thomas was educated at the Pleasant Point and Kerry Town schools, being readmitted several times to Pleasant Point. His father died in 1904 and his mother just over a year later. Thomas enlisted twice. His next -of-kin was his sister Mrs Elizabeth Mary Doak.As of February 1951, Thomas was in Ward 5, timaru Public Hospital. It may be that Thomas married Lily (Lilian) Bower in 1931; Thomas and Lilian are buried in the Green Island Cemetery, near Dunedin.
