Biographical Notes

Charles Henry Burrell was the third son of Charles Edward and Elizabeth Dora Maria (Lizzie, née Bockmann) Burrell. Charles was educated at Waimataitai School. He married Mary Kathleen McMahon in 1923. His oldest brother, George Edward Burrell, also enlisted, and another brother, Arthur Stanley Burrell, was aclled up for service. ..
