Biographical Notes

Walter Lund was the son of Christian Waldemar and Emma (née Croose) Lund. Walter was educated at Pleasant Point School. His brothers James and William also served in World War I.

J Cooling recounts: "Wattie(as he was known by) fought to liberate Le Quesnoy on 04/11/1919. He won a medal for bravery as he captured several German Gunners and bought them in with an empty rifle. The captives were not aware it was empty." (Submission 28 October 2018)
