Biographical Notes
Hugh Aloysius Hilary Dick, known as Hilary, was the youngest son of John Reid Dick and his second wife, Mary Agnes née O'Donnell. Born on 13 January 1897 at Timaru, he was baptised in the Roman Catholic Parish there on 24 January 1897. Hilary was educated at the Marist Brothers School, Timaru. He was a half-brother of Joseph Andrew Dick and James Alfred Dick.
