Biographical Notes

Denis Coffey was the son of Denis (or Dennis) and Johanna (Hannah) Coffey. NZBDM online records his birth as being registered on 14 Ocotber 1887, but when he enlisted for World War One he recorded his birth date as 25 September 1888 and his name as Dennis (rather thanbe Denis). Denis' father died in 1911.

Dennis married Catherine Alice Martin in 1920. Denis' brother Timothy Coffey was also called up for military service.
