Biographical Notes

Patrick Mchael Carrick, born on 17 October 1884 at Waimate, was the only son of Lawrence Carrick and his wife Bridget née Collins. Patrick had one sister, Bridget Mary, who died unmarried in 1943 and is buried at Nelson. Pat erected the headstone over her grave in the Wakapuaka Cemetery. Their father died in 1904 and mother in 1909. They are buried at Waimate. Patrick married Catherine Kirby in 1911. They had one daughter Kathleen Dorothea born at Waimate in 1911.
