Archibald Dargue Weir was the first-born of Archibald and Jessie Margaret (néeBell) Weir. Archibald was educated at Oamaru South and Moeraki schools.When he enlisted his address was at Timaru, though he was working as an engineer at Pembroke (Wanaka). .
