Biographical Notes
John Russell Wells was the son of Arthur crosby and Jessie Wells. He married Phoebe doris bardsley Maslin on 29 March 1917 at Geraldine. Captain J. R. Wells returned to New Zealand in September 1918 per the 'Ionic', which was bringing a large number of invalided soldiers.
