Biographical Notes
William Bain was born on 23 April 1897 at Pleasant Point, the third child and second son of John and Ellen Isabel (née Burgess) Bain. Like his brother Donald, he started at Fairlie School before transferring to Cricklewood and Silverstream and back to Fairlie.
