Biographical Notes
Charles Joseph McATEER was the son of Michael and Margaret (née Power) McAteer, as was Michael Raymond McAteer whose file is intermingled with that of Charles Joseph..Charles was at first rejected as medically unfit (April 1916). He was discharged from Trentham Camp, suffering from epilepsy. "We are of the opinion this man is permanently medically unfit for any Service in N.Z. in connection with or for the purpose of the Present War." Signed George Lyon Lt Col, A. W.
