Biographical Notes

Walter ALLAN was the son of Robert and Helen ALLAN. He was a brother of Alexander ALLAN who also served in WWI and of Richard ALLAN who served in the South African War. Walter died on 17 August at Timaru and was buried in the Fairlie Cemetery, the Returned Men parading from the Council Chambers to the Funeraly to pay their respects.
