Biographical Notes
George Black was the son of Mr and Mrs George Black, of Tabletop, Hakataramea.
George's great nephew, J Ware, recounted: "His nephew,Bernard Black told me he was escorting two Germans, who had surrendered, when he was shot by a sniper. George’s name is recorded in The Scottish National War Memorial. This is located in Edinburgh Castle."
