Biographical Notes

Lawrence Arthur Bourke was born on 16 February 1895 at Dunedin, the son of John and Hannah (née East) Bourke. He was a farm hand for J. Douglas at Rosewill, near Timaru in 1915 and was among the recruits passed by the medical men in Timaru in mid July 1915. After the war Lawrence went to New South Wales, Australia, where he married Ada Barbara Browne. He died on 2 July 1972 in New South Wales.
