Biographical Notes

Ernest Binion Cooper, born on 7 February 1892 at Ashburton, was the son of Edward Binion and Sarah Elizabeth (née Evans) Cooper. He was educated at Temuka School, gaining a junior scholarship in 1908. E. B. Cooper, 16074, returned to New Zealand per the “Arawa” (Draft No. 244), reaching Lyttelton about 12 May 1919. Ernest married Dorothy Frisby in 1921.
