Arras, received advice that her brother, Private J. J. Harmer, would return to New Zealand invalided, by hospital ship, reaching Lyttelton in early 1918. He had been wounded in the right arm on 12 Octobber 1917. James married Margaret Catherine Hutt in 1922.
