Biographical Notes

Henry Edward Trousselot, known as Harry, was born on 29 October 1883 at Timaru. Harry’s early education was at Timaru Main School before the family left the district in March 1891. He enlisted with the Australian Imperial Force in Victoria, Australia, a fire-fighter, 32 years 3 months old. His next-of-kin was his wife, Edith Trousselot, Hyde, 4 Allen Street, East Brunswick, Melbourne. Edith died in 1923. He had married Edith Lankey in 1911 in Victoria, Australia. On 28 October 1915 he had applied for a commission in the Mining Corps. He was 31 years 11 months old, married, and of Church of England affiliation. He had been the Chief Officer of the Fire Brigade.

On 27 December 1924, in Tasmania, Henry married Emily May Self (née Ward), a war widow. He married twice more, after each wife had died. Henry Edward Trousselot enlisted with the Australian Forces for World War II also. He died on 18 April 1957 at Launceston, Tasmania, aged 73 years. He was survived by his wife and two children of his first marriage.
