Biographical Notes
William James Dunn was born on 19 July 1894 at Timaru, the third son of Richard Edward and Sarah Jane (née Scott), and baptised on 11 September at St Mary’s Anglican Church, Timaru. He was educated at Waimataitai School, leaving 14¾ years to go to work. William married Isabella Ada Wallace in 1920 at Timaru. He was a nephew of James Henry Spencer (Scott) who served with the Australian Forces.
