Biographical Notes
Lindsay McIntosh Murray was the youngest son of William McIntosh Murray and his wife, Gertrude Constance Emma née Curry. Following the death of his father on board the Rimutaka in 1899, his mother married again, to Herbert Raymond Parker, and lived at "Ranui" in Pages Road, Timaru. Lindsay was educated at Fendalton School and Christ's College. His brother William also served in World War I and another brother, Donal McIntosh Murray, was called up in 1917 at Timaru. His step-father, Herbert Raymond Parker, was also called up.
