Biographical Notes

Henry Valentine Wyatt was the son of Alfred Ambrose and Charlotte (née Loader) Wyatt. He was educated at Timaru South and Timaru Main schools. His father in August 1895, when he suffered a head injury after he experienced giddiness and fell out of his dray. His mother died suddenly from heart disease in June 1920.Late in 1917 he was drawn in the Second Ballot for Second Division Class A drafts. Harry married Elsie Elizabeth Ann Paynter in 1906. Elsie died in 1918. Harry married Margery Marion Spalding Lensey in 1920. His nephew, Alfred Henry Wyatt, served in the war, and his older brother, George Wyatt, was called up and enlisted.
