Biographical Notes
Robert McBride was the son of Samuel McBride and his second wife, Frances Elizabeth née Jenkins. Samuel died in 1916, survived by eight sons and seven daughters. Robert was educated at Gleniti School. He married Margaret Forrest in 1922. His brother, Andrew, was killed in action in 1918 in France; a half-brother, John, also served in the war, and another half-brother, William, was called up.
