Biographical Notes
Alexander William Mowat Hutchison was the son of Alexander and Jane Helen (née Duff) Hutchison. He was born in the prison buildings at Peterhead, where his father was the prison warder. He was about eleven years old when the family came to New Zealand. Private Alexander Hutchison was admitted to Timaru Hospital for treatment on his return from the Front inOctober 1918. He married Ivy Blanche Lewis in 1921.
