Biographical Notes
James Coll was the son of James and Catherine (Katie, Kitty, née Hamilton) Coll. James was educated at Upper Waitohi and Kakahu Bush schools. His brother Daniel was killed in action in 1918, and brother William also served in World War I. James and Daniel were serving overseas when their father died in April 1917.
