Biographical Notes

Joseph Burke was the son of Michael and Mary (née Calihan/Callaghan) Burke. Joseph was farming at Milford when he was called up. On 25 June 1917, he and his brother Michael left with men from the South Canterbury military district for camp. Joseph Burke is buried in a family plt in the Temuka Cemetery.
