Biographical Notes

Allan George Cruickshank was the son of Alexander Watt Cruickshank and Jeannie née McRae. Embarking at Tilbury on 12 March 1919 for the return home, he reached Lyttelton, New Zealand by the “Corinthic” in April 1919, one of 1142 soldiers aboard. Allan married Elizabeth Greig Herd in 1928. His next-of-kin at death was Mr J. Cruickshank, RD 10, Waimate, most probably his son Jim.
