Biographical Notes

Finlay Munro was the son of Colin and Margaret (née McKenzie) Munro, both his parents coming from the north of Scotland. Finlay was educated at Oamaru Middle School and Mackenzie School, Canterbury. Trooper f. Munro, Makikihi, was one of the recruits for the Tenth Reinforcements who left South Canterbury in mid November 1915 for Trentham Camp. Finlay married Ellen Kay in 1924.
