Biographical Notes

Allan Murray McKinnon was the only son of Colin (Coll) and Mary Jane (née Murray) McKinnon. He started at Hornby School in Christchurch, moving to Waimataitai School, Timaru, in 1904, next to Timaru Main in 1906, then on to Fairlie School in 1910. Allan married Florence Nita Ellem in 1925 at St Mary's Church, Timaru.
